The Caparisoned Horse
A ceremonial tribute carried in stillness and honour
A ceremonial tribute carried in stillness and honour.
The Caparisoned Horse draws from a long tradition of remembrance — the riderless horse, the reversed boots, the formal stillness of a final procession. Here, absence is made visible through the weight of saddle, sabre, and leather, each element held in quiet balance.
Carefully enhanced for contrast, depth, and tonal clarity, the image is precision laser-etched onto a ceramic tile with a hand-finished black surface. The engraving reveals polished detail and deep shadow, preserving the ceremonial character of the piece with restraint and permanence.
Mounted on a wooden display stand, this work is well suited to memorial spaces, offices, detachments, or homes where service and remembrance are held with dignity. It stands as a composed tribute to honour carried forward.
